Caldercats Open Mic Nights
At a
Caldercats Open Mic night, you can expect the evening to be kicked off
with our house group - The Wes Paul Band, who play an initial set before
inviting guests up to play
A
full back line up is always provided including 3 guitar amps and a bass amp. We
also provide guitars - electro-acoustic, electric and bass. You can
choose to be backed by the band or appear on your own or with guests.
We
try to give everyone a fair chance to play but depending on how many
acts there are you can expect to play a 20 minute set.
If
you are a band and are planning to come along, we like to be told in
advanced, so we can assure you a 40 minute spot. All solo artists will
have a maximum of 20 minutes. If
it's a particularly busy night, sets will be limited to 2-4 songs per act.
The
Wes Paul Band will then finish off the night with a short final set.

The night was a
huge success and featured two full bands - The Wes Paul Band and
Shindig, who came all the way from Liverpool. Drummer Arty Davies played
with both groups. There was also a top local country singer Kendrick
Whitehead performing some classic tracks, backed by The Wes Paul Band.
It started around
8:00pm and continued till 11pm with a fantastic reception from
the audience.
